  • Adult Training at Scout Camp

Posted on May 14th, 2012 tdewitt No comments

To all leaders that are going to Scout Camp there is an opportunityto get your training.  Here are the classes that are offered.

    • Day 5 & 6  Outdoor Leader Skills for leaders over 21 years of age or those that may be called as Honorary Warriors later in the session. Starts at 8:30 a.m. on Day 5 with an overnight and finish Day 6 about 4:30 p.m. Training is held in the Pioneer Trails area of camp.
    • Day 7 & 8 Outdoor Leader Skills for leaders 18-21 years of age. Starts at 8:30 a.m. on Day 5 with an overnight and finish Day 6 about 4:30 p.m. Training is held in the Pioneer Trails area of camp.
    • Day 1 Scoutmaster and Asst. Scoutmaster Essentials training for leaders over 21 years of age; 8:30 –4:30 p.m. at the Catholic Chapel.
    • Day 7 Scoutmaster and Asst. Scoutmaster Essentials training for leaders 18-21 years of age; 8:30 –4:30 p.m. at the Catholic Chapel.
    • Day 6 – Climb On Safely training. Held at the Climbing Tower at 1 p.m.

It is recommended that you sign up for at least one of the training sessions.  You do not have to be a Scout Masters or an Assistant Scout Master to take these classes.  It is just good to have this information for a better troop.  A trained leader benefits the whole troop.

Please email me at DeWitt.Scouts@gmail.com if you would like to sign up for a class. I will also be a camping this weekend and at the next Troop Meeting.  Get with me and I will sign you up.

Posted on April 19th, 2012 Jay Curless 2 comments

Everyone going this weekend, I need you to email me (Jay Curless at jay.curless@gmail.com Adults and Scouts) with your name and if your going backpacking or on the day hike. Remember 1st years are going on the day hike. If you do not have a stove, water filter, or first aid kit you will be fine. Make sure you have some sort of rain gear because you never know what the weather can be. Everyone backpacking will need to bring there own food for all meals. EVERYTHING YOU PACK IN YOU WILL PACK OUT.
